Moznet

The Mozcom Network (Moznet) is the most extensive and most advanced Internet (IP) infrastructure in the Philippines today, enabling Mozcom to provide overseas and nationwide broadband multimedia and e-commerce services beyond the scope of most ISPs and telcos.

Broadband International Links

Mozcom currently has multiple redundant DS3 fiber links from several telcos in place. These links are connected to different intra-Asian and trans-Pacific fiber networks to ensure maximum network resiliency and uptime. Total trans-Pacific bandwidth is in excess of 100Mbps. Through gigabit fiber connections to upstream telcos, bandwidth provisioning can be scaled up to in excess of 1Gbps, subject to telco limitations.

We are one of the few local ISPs with transponder capacity on the Mabuhay satellite. Our link to ABone in Tokyo and REACH in Hong Kong can handle intra-Asian Internet and e-commerce applications.

Internal Backbone

Our major points of presence are connected to the Makati national NOC via multiple E1 (2.048Mbps) leased lines and broadband downstream connectivity through the Mabuhay satellite.

As the primary bandwidth provider for the country's top universities, Mozcom provides enterprise-class, high-speed access to the Philippine academic and research community.

Our domestic backbone nodes in Metro Manila, Metro Cebu, Metro Davao, and Metro Baguio host the traffic of over half a million Filipino Internet users nationwide. Moznet also provides shortcut routes to other local users through its E1 connections to the Philippine Internet Exchange (PhIX) of PLDT, and the Globe Internet Exchange of Globe Telecoms. Moznet is directly connected via gigabit fiber to the IP networks of Globe Telecoms, which provides a clear channel DS3 to UUNET, making the Mozcom Network the most redundant infrastructure in the country today.

Our internal backbone thus connects the West Coast of the United States and over 70 PoPs in all regions of the Philippines via multiple high-speed links. Having deployed leased lines and telephone lines from all telecommunications providers in the country, Moznet's guaranteed carrier-class 99.99% uptime on its core network underscores its overall robustness and reliability, especially for institutional and corporate users.

Data Center

Mozcom is the exclusive technical support provider and preferred bandwidth partner of Mod.Net.ph Internet Infrastructure Inc., a P575M Board of Investments pioneer Internet Data Center with a 30,000 sq. ft. managed facility for co-location and hosting. Mod.Net is a solutions partner of IBM and HP.

Moznet-IPV6

Around 1992, the IETF became aware of a global shortage of IPv4 addresses, and technical obstacles in deploying new protocols due to limitations imposed by IPv4.

IPv6 is a new version of IP which is designed to be an evolutionary step from IPv4. It is a natural increment to IPv4. Information about IPV6 is contained on the following RFC:

Moznet IPV6 services will offer the following type of options: IPv6 tunneling and dual stack services. It will offer IPV6 services from its main network node in Makati. As this is a pioneering effort, it will offer it free to research and educational institutions that it is currently hosting.

Moznet will start deploying IPV6 services on its network beginning June 2004.
