Fliptunes Rocks Trinoma
Sept 15 to 17, 2008 — Fliptunes Inc. (www.fliptunes.net) treated Filipino music fans with a guitar fest at Ayala’s Trinoma Mall in Quezon City. The show, entitled THE OPM CROSSROADS: 2008 GUITARFEST EXPERIENCE, featured top major OPM bands.
The Guitarfest was a celebration that reveres the best guitar players the local music industry has to offer. The idea of the Guitarfest was hatched up from years back. Though it may have stopped for a time, the year 2008 was a very good comeback, as both fans and bands alike embraced this free three-day event with much enthusiasm.
Performers for the 3-day show included The Dawn, Overtone, Daniel Crisologo, Kenyo, Julianne, Camerawalls, Noel Cabangon, Migs Escueta, Up Dharma Down, Moonstar 88, Johnny Alegre, Sopiz, Delara, and Rivermaya.
Friends from media added flavor to the whole thing as NU 107, MTV and Gadgets Magazine covered the event. Lucky concert goers happily went home with prizes at hand as they gamely answered the questions given by host and NU jock, Russ Davis. The show was presented by LG.
The Trinoma event was the first of a 3-part series. The next concerts will be held at Serendra and Glorietta mall so watch out for them.
The Guitarfest also served as a soft- launching of Fliptunes Lite, the mobile phone/WAP-based version of Fliptunes. Users can easily download their favorite tunes onto their phones and take them wherever they go. The catalog currently contains thousands of OPM songs and continues to grow.
