Mozcom Cebu Conducts Seminar on SEO
Oct 9, 2008 (Cebu, Philippines) — Mozcom Cebu held its Tech Talk 2008, entitled Increasing Online Visibility Through Search Engine Optimization (SEO), at Casino Espanol.
The seminar was targeted to business owners, MIS managers, IT practitioners, business development and marketing managers who wanted to know more about SEO and how it can help increase their site’s traffic. More than 50 companies representing different sectors from travel and hospitality, to media and manufacturing, sent representatives to the event.
With an estimated 85% of the world’s Internet traffic originating from search engines, one has to understand how to optimize a website to make it rank higher in a search result. The speaker, Mozcom COO/CTO Dick Chiang, provided ten basic steps on how to achieve that using live illustrations.
The importance of analytical data was discussed and how it impacts marketing activities. Google Analytics was used as the main example for viewing user traffic data graphically.
Lastly, the attendees were introduced to the PayEasy Online Payment System and how they can use it to go into e-commerce. The topic ties closely to SEO as an estimated 70% of online purchases also start from search engines. So companies need both a good SEO strategy and an online payment system.
