Mobile Web Development Course
January 21, 2004

The Ateneo Information Technology Institute has partnered with Mozcom, Inc. in offering a Mobile Web Development Course, an in-depth technical course intended for web site developers who wish to extend their presence to the mobile space.

Upon the completion of this course, the participants will be able to explain the relationship of the different components involved in mobile web development: the mobile operator, the WAP gateway, the WAP site and the WAP device.

The participants will be able to create mobile web sites using the Wireless Mark-up Language (WML) or the next-generation Extensible Hypertext Markup Language - Mobile Profile (XHTML-MP) using different development tools. In addition, the participants will be able to use advanced features like Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) and design applications that generate dynamic mobile web content.

Participants are expected to be familiar already with basic web site development using HTML. Working knowledge in C, C++, Java, Visual Basic, ASP or PHP will be a strong advantage. Familiarization with system administration of servers like Microsoft IIS and Apache is useful but not required.
