Mozcom Introduces Affordable Blade and Rackmount Internet Servers
February 9, 2005

Mozcom introduces its new line of application and database servers intended for use in the Internet environment. The NetMachine family of servers are based on standard rackmountable specifications and are tested to run SQL database servers, email, web, firewall, http proxy, antivirus and other network management applications.

Continuing its tradition on supporting open technologies, the Mozcom NetMachines use non-proprietary, industry-standard ATX motherboards, hard disks, memory chips and power supplies. Because of this, they are priced as low as up to 1/10-th the cost of similar branded, proprietary products. Maintenance is also significantly lower because of the use of standard parts.

NetMachines come in blade and rackmount form factors. This is ideal for implementing high-availability or load balancing clusters at the least amount of space. It is ideal for running applications such as email, web servers or network gaming farms.

"Mozcom will be able to offer cheaper co-location services because pricing is based on amount of rack space consumed," said Paul Pongco, Mozcom Manager for Broadband Services. "Smaller space naturally translates to lower cost."

The NetMachines can be bought as pure hardware or customers can avail of NetCare. With NetCare, Mozcom will pre-install and pre-configure either Windows or Linux server operating systems based on the client's requirements and will provide OS support for the full year. It's like having professionally certified engineers on your payroll for a fraction of the amount.
