NetSecure IP-based Access Control: Using Biometrics, Smart Cards and Proximity RFID Cards
February 11, 2005

Mozcom announces its NetSecure line of IP-based, security-focused products. Encouraged by its recent foray into biometric-based timekeeping solutions, as well as building on its core technology of biometrics, smart cards, and RFID, Mozcom adds access control as part of the standard feature of its flagship NetSecure product.

"Every time we introduce the Biometric Timekeeper, almost always, the follow-up question of our customers would be, 'can it interface with door locks?'" said Dick Chiang, COO/CTO of Mozcom.

The NetSecure access control system differs with existing access control products primarily in its basic design philosophy. NetSecure was designed with Internet technology in mind. "It does not matter whether you are using fingerprint scanners or RFID readers or smart card readers at the user end. As long as all these devices are connected to an IP network, they should be able to talk to the main NetSecure controller which will control access, " Chiang adds.

The system can span wide area networks. The controller can open doors in a building across the street, or even across an ocean, as long as there is an IP connection.

NetSecure can work with electromagnetic plate locks, electric strike or bolt locks. You may log in at http://www.mozcom.com/netsecure or email sales@mozcom.com to know more about Mozcom's services.
