NetRocket version 5.0 released
March 30, 2005

Mozcom’s Internet Accelerator gets even better with the release of NetRocket version 5.0. NetRocket is a service that enables dialup and low-speed DSL subscribers to surf the Internet up to five times faster. The added speed offers dial-up customers an attractive alternative to broadband at a very affordable price.

Version 5.0 uses image compression and caching techniques that load better-looking graphics even faster, with the quality of the images almost as good as the original, even at maximum settings. The technology, provided by Propel Software Corporation, compresses text and graphics that enable users to load web pages much more quickly than is traditionally possible over an ordinary dial-up connection without requiring any additional hardware. The software also blocks pop-up ads that may slow down access by downloading unnecessary web pages.

In addition, Mozcom users can now enjoy faster email access. NetRocket can accelerate email based on the following popular protocols: POP3 (Post Office Protocol), SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol), and IMAP (Internet Message Access Protocol). E-mail acceleration uses lossless compression for both text and graphic objects; lossless compression means that the full original object is delivered to the user instead of an optimized object. NetRocket’s email acceleration is automatic, with no changes necessary on the email client.

NetRocket is available on both Windows and Macintosh platforms. Mozcom customers can avail of postpaid dialup plans with NetRocket acceleration for as little as P350 per month. Mozcom Nitro prepaid Internet card users can also avail of free NetRocket trial usage for ten (10) days. For more information on Mozcom NetRocket, visit http://www.mozcom.com/netrocket.
