Mozcom presents EVEREST screening
at the IMAX Theater
May 19, 2006

Experience the thrill, drama & danger with IMAX.

Mozcom brings you the film EVEREST at the San Miguel Coca-Cola IMAX Theater, SM Mall of Asia, on May 28, 2006, 3:00 pm.

A first in the Philippines, the IMAX theater utilizes a unique film projection system created by IMAX Corporation that has the capacity to display images of far greater size and resolution than conventional film display systems. Short for "Image Maximum", a standard IMAX screen is 22 meters wide and 16 meters high (72.6 x 52.8 ft), and can be larger. IMAX is the most successful large-format special-venue film presentation system in the world.

EVEREST is the story of the 1996 Everest Film Expedition, a dramatic true story of a team of climbers who found hope, strength and triumph in the wake of tragedy. Their successful ascent of Mount Everest just days after fellow mountaineers and friends died there, is a compelling story about the human spirit and a mountain they love, respect and sometimes fear.

Shown on the tallest screens in the world, EVEREST takes audiences across creaking icefalls and gaping chasms, up dangerous, towering cliffs, through a harrowing rescue, and into the danger zone of oxygen-thin altitude. The 40-minute film also reveals how this tallest mountain was formed and continues to evolve, how high altitude challenges a climber's physical and mental capabilities, and how Sherpa culture permeates the Mount Everest experience.

Narrated by noted Irish actor Liam Neeson, EVEREST was shot entirely in IMAX format, and is one of the highest-grossing IMAX films, with a box office take of $120.6 million worldwide ($84.4 million in the US and Canada alone).
