Mozcom celebrates its 10th anniversary
with nationwide Bus Tours
Manila, Philippines -- Mozcom, the first and largest
ISP in the Philippines, recently celebrated its 10th year Anniversary.
Two Buses roamed around the country, one each for Luzon and Visayas/ Mindanao
for ten days.
A
send-off party was held at The Taipan Place, Ortigas Center for Luzon
and at the Landco-PDCP Corporate Center in Davao for the Visayas/Mindanao.
Mozcom staff and other guests gathered to wish the tour and its passengers
a safe and successful trip.
At Luzon, different kinds of celebrations were held at each PoP (Point-of-Presence)
where the bus stopped. An ICT Conference in Malolos, Bulacan was held
where Mozcom was the organizer and major sponsor of the event.
For Tarlac, different schools participated in the Mozcom Nitro Quiz Show.
Cross country bikers cycled off in Dagupan along with the bus while people
rocked to the music at the Mozcom concert in SM Baguio. There were also
motorcades and school tours in Dasmariñas, Lucena City and Legaspi
City.
 In
Davao, the tour went from General Santos to Marbel, Bukidnon and Cagayan
de Oro, stopping at different schools and radio stations to announce the
Mozcom Bus' presence in the area. Some students had the opportunity to
ride the bus. An LRN (Learning Resources Network) Conference was held
in Dipolog, at the Taplaza Hotel. From there, the Bus took a ferry ride
to reach the different islands of Visayas.
Dumaguete had the biggest POP party in the Visayas leg. Party revelers
flocked to Quezon Park when evening struck. There were school and radio
tours as well in Bacolod, where contests were held in the different universities
and radio stations.
"The
outcome of the Bus tour was more than we expected. The PoPs were very
cooperative and eager to make the tour successful," said Ms. Joane
Tempra, Mozcom Bus Tour organizer.
The tour culminated with three Gala Nights held simultaneously at The
Peninsula Manila in Manila, The Waterfront Hotel in Cebu and at The Royal
Mandaya Hotel in Davao.
The parties were broadcasted to each branch using Mozcom's very own videoconferencing
service. It was a night of reminiscing and recognition of what they have
achieved over the years.
"Riding the bus was a symbolic way of meeting up with our subscribers
and potential customers in the information highway," said Ms. Beta
Balagot-Gan, Mozcom's Chairman and CEO.
Mozcom's 10th year anniversary celebration was made possible through
Campus Radio LSFM the official radio station, Studio 23 the official TV
station, Globe and PLDT along with Digitel, Computerworld, PCWorld, Enterprise,
Speed Magazine, Lakbay.net, INQ7.net and the Manila Bulletin.
Mozcom was established in 1994, making it the Philippines' 1st commercial
ISP. Its nationwide pure-IP backbone was the first of its kind, and to
this day, provides the infrastructure that runs corporate virtual private
networks (VPNs), the campus network of the major educational and research
institutions, and provides true dialup roaming for mobile users from Northern
Luzon to Southern Mindanao.
Mozcom is expanding to provide total business solutions. It also specializes
