Printing Your Flickr Photos Just Got Easier

Mar 22, 2007 -- Any amateur or avid digital photographer would surely have heard of the service called Flickr. Flickr, also known as Yahoo Photos, is undoubtedly the most popular online photo management and sharing service in the Internet today.

Saving your photos to Flickr is fairly straightforward and simple. You shoot your photos using your digital camera. You transfer the images to your PC. You upload the images from your PC to Flickr using your web browser or the special Flickr upload software. But once uploaded and online, how do you order physical prints of your digital photos? US users have long had the option of choosing one from among the many Flickr partners. But alas, if you are a Philippine-based Flickr user, your only option is to download the images again back to your PC; burn it onto CD or transfer to a flash drive; then bring to your neighborhood photo developing center.

All that is about to change. Picatoo, the online photo developing service of Mozcom and Fuji YKL, has good news for Flickr users in the Philippines. It has recently been granted by Flickr a commercial license to integrate Picatoo with its service. This is most likely the first and only commercial license in the Philippines today. What this technically means is Picatoo is now capable of downloading your images directly from Flickr to its servers, and make it immediately available for printing. There is no more need to go about the run-around process of re-downloading from Flickr; and re-uploading to Picatoo.

"This new feature gives unsurpassed convenience to our customers and lets him quickly do his task," explains Dick Chiang, Mozcom COO/CTO.  Photos no longer have to travel from Flickr to your PC; then from your PC to Picatoo. It goes straight from Flickr to Picatoo. Thus, it is no longer restricted by the customer's DSL connection.  Visit Picatoo at www.picatoo.com for details.
